Y5 at Wick Court Farm - Day 5
After a week full of adventures, learning, and laughter, today proved to be the perfect finale.
The highlight of the morning was a real test of teamwork and communication: shepherding sheep into their pens. With a little coaching from the farm staff, the children took on the role of junior shepherds with great enthusiasm. Working together, they learned how to guide the sheep calmly and carefully, using their voices and movement to direct the flock. There were a few hilarious moments of sheep mischief, but in the end, teamwork triumphed—and the sheep were safely penned.
After lunch, the fun continued with a farm-wide scavenger hunt. Split into small groups, the children raced around the grounds, solving clues and answering questions. The hunt tested their observation skills, knowledge of the farm, and ability to work together under pressure. There was laughter echoing across the fields, and plenty of friendly competition as each team worked to complete the challenge first.
As the morning wound down, the staff gathered everyone for a heartfelt farewell. Warm words were shared, highlighting the children's curiosity, kindness, and growth throughout the week. Six children were awarded a special farmer of the week certificate!
