Geography - The River Under Holbeach

Last week, Year 5 discovered that a river actually flows underneath our school! We asked Mr Bulpitt if we could visit the basement to see it. Mr Holmes very kindly showed us into the basement. It was dark, damp and a little spooky!
As we walked down the stairs, we could already hear the water flowing. Mr Holmes lifted up the grate and we could see a section of the river.
We learned that this river is a tributary of the River Ravensbourne, which then flows into Deptford Creek, which then becomes the Thames, which finally flows into the North Sea.
It was a very exciting experience!
