December has flown by with all the excitement of Christmas around the corner. We have been keeping warm inside and the children have been exploring all things Christmassy! We started the month by decorating our class Christmas tree. Our favourite songs have been When Santa got stuck up the Chimney and Jingle Bells. We continued our Christmas theme by looking at different sensory aspects of the season enjoying sensory trays with artificial snow and artic animals as well as looking at Christmas decorations and talking about the shapes of the objects they found and describing the textures.

The holiday season provides a fun opportunity for young learners to build their vocabulary through exposure to festive words. Below is some of the words we have been focusing on in Nursery:
