This week, 3G stepped back in time and experienced what life was like for children during the Victorian period on our visit to the Ragged School.

We travelled by train and, when we arrived, the children took part in a Victorian-style school lesson. They discovered that Victorian schools were very different from our classrooms today.

We also explored a cramped Victorian home and learned about what everyday life was like for families living in crowded conditions.

The visit gave us a fantastic opportunity to bring our History learning to life. The children were able to see, experience and ask questions about the past, rather than simply reading about it in a book.

A big well done to 3G for their excellent behaviour, curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the trip.

We came back with lots of ideas to use in our lessons!
