This week in Science, we have been investigating how the position of a light source affects the length of a shadow.

The children worked scientifically by making a prediction and then carrying out a fair test. We used a torch as our light source and moved it closer to and further away from an object. The children carefully measured the resulting shadows and recorded their measurements in a table.

We discovered that moving the torch changes the length of the shadow. The children enjoyed testing their ideas and seeing whether their predictions were correct!

3G were brilliant scientists, particularly when discussing why the shadow changed when the torch moved. We are looking forward to continuing our learning about light and shadows!
