This week in Pebble Class, we are thinking about families. We will be talking about our own families as well as learning about other people's families and how every family is special and unique. We will be sharing lots of stories about families and creating drawings of our own families to celebrate the important people in our lives.

In our learning, we will be looking at different artworks that show families. We will talk about what we can see and share our ideas using the sentences "I can see..." and "I think...". This will help us develop our speaking, listening and observation skills.

In Maths, we will continue with lots of counting activities and number songs. We will be focusing on using our fingers to show numbers, helping us to build a secure understanding of quantity and number.

We will also be practising subitising. Subitising is the ability to recognise how many objects there are in a small group without having to count them one by one. For example, when you see three dots on a dice and instantly know there are three, you are subitising! This is an important early maths skill that helps children develop confidence with numbers.
