4A visit Fulham Palace
Last Monday, we travelled by tube and train to West London to visit Fulham Palace as part of our topic this term: 'Warriors of the Waves'. We took part in a workshop about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings where we learnt the timeline for settlers from those eras in the area around Fulham Palace. We were able to handle artefacts that have been found by archeaologists on the site, we also practised reading runes which are the Viking alphabet, and finally tried on clothes that were similar to what would have been worn by Viking and Anglo-Saxon tribes.
After lunch, we were had a private tour of the house even though it was closed to the public that day. We felt very lucky! The natural playground gave us the chance to play before our journey back to school.
It was a long day but we learnt a lot and had a great time!
