What a magical week we’ve had in Reception! ✨

We’ve loved reading “What’s in the Witch’s Kitchen?” and exploring all things witchy in our provision areas, from mixing potions to building spooky houses and casting imaginative spells! The children have been so creative and curious as they explored the story.

To celebrate Bonfire Night, we also created some beautiful firework art, experimenting with colour, sparkle and shape to make our pictures really pop! 🎆

In phonics, we have been learning the sounds s, a, t. The children have enjoyed spotting these letters around the classroom and practising how to blend them into simple words. Next week, your child will bring home their first reading book containing these sounds to practise at home. Please share this special time together!

In maths, we have been exploring length, using words like longer, shorter, and the same length. We even made some very long snakes to help us compare sizes. The children were very proud of their creations! 🐍
