Releasing the butterflies!
In year five we've been learning about butterflies.First,we put tiny caterpillars in small containers with special, brown caterpillar food.We noticed that they were getting bigger every day. After a few days, we noticed they started to make their chrysalis hanging on the top of their containers. We noticed that if they felt threatened in their chrysalis the would shake. We stuck velcro onto the top of their pots and carefully transferred them into the butterfly pavilion. One day we came in and one of the butterflies had emerged from their chrysalis.Over the next few days, most of them hatched. We put in oranges, apples and sugar water for them to eat and drink because they need sugar to help them survive. Finally,on Friday we went outside and released the butterflies into the outdoors. We hope that they grow big and strong. (By 5G)
