Yesterday we held the first Phonics and Phonological Awareness meeting for Parents in EYFS. Please keep an eye out in the newsletter and on the school website for the dates for the KS1 meeting and KS2 meeting.

Firstly, thank you to everyone that was able to attend. It was a very successful morning and the children loved sharing their Phonological Awareness activities with you.

Sharing activities at home, that encourage Phonological Awareness, will really support your children when they start to learn the letter sounds (phonemes) and how to record them (graphemes). A question was raised about the pure sounds' - please see the link attached to this post for an information video about the letter sounds.

Our whole school Phonological Awareness focus will continue to be a part of the newsletter so keep an eye out for ideas that you can do at home with your children.
