This week we have had an exciting week full of adventures. On Tuesday we had our first outing to Ladywell Fields where we found the Easter Bunny and enjoyed a chocolate egg hunt. On the way home we stopped to see the ducks and noticed lots of signs of spring. When we returned to school, the children created some beautiful artwork of a bunny in a field of flowers inspired by what we had seen.

Our next adventure was a visit from Conway, who brought a variety of large digging equipment. The children loved getting up close and seeing the machines in action. It was a fantastic opportunity to explore how things work and talk about different jobs.

We have also been learning about Easter traditions that some families celebrate and visited a local church. The children are developing a lovely understanding of each other’s cultures and are learning that families can be different from their own.

In phonics, we have now finished teaching all of the sounds in Reception. Next term we will focus on helping the children become secure in their phonic knowledge and apply their sounds confidently in both reading and writing.

Have a lovely break and we look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 16th April.
