Bye Bye Butterflies!
This week we have been very excited to watch our butterflies emerge from their chrysalis. The children loved caring for them by feeding and watering them before we each had the chance to carefully hold a butterfly. We then set them free outside which was a lovely experience for everyone to share together.
In our phonics and writing this week we have been practising writing simple captions and sentences such as “I can see a web.” The children are becoming very confident at leaving spaces between words and using their phonic knowledge to sound out each word independently. They could also continue to practise this in their phonics home learning book.
In maths we have been exploring different ways of making 8. We made some wonderful spiders that needed double 4 legs which helped us to talk about doubles in a fun and practical way.
We have also been busy singing our assembly songs and learning our lines. Well done to everyone who has been practising their line at home. We look forward to seeing you all at our assembly on Thursday 22nd at 10:15am. Please use the office entrance.
