This week was Culture Week and we had a wonderful time learning all about France.

We started by finding France on a map and discovered that it is very close to England. The children were fascinated to learn about the different ways we can travel there and were especially excited to find out that you can take a train under the sea through the Channel Tunnel!

Throughout the week, we explored French culture through a range of creative activities. We made French flags and created some beautiful artwork inspired by the Eiffel Tower. The children showed great care and creativity in their work.

In maths, we challenged ourselves to build tall towers and estimate how many steps would be needed to reach the top. We were amazed to discover that the Eiffel Tower has 1,665 steps! We then compared this to the stairs at Holbeach, which have only 90 steps. The children enjoyed discussing the difference and thinking about which they would rather climb.

Today, the children looked fantastic in their traditional clothing as we celebrated the many cultures represented in our community. We enjoyed a feast of delicious cuisines from around the world and learned how to perform the famous French can-can dance. Ask your child to show you some of the moves at home!

A reminder that Sports Day will take place next Friday. Children should come to school dressed in shorts and a T-shirt (any colour is fine). Parents are warmly invited to watch from 9:30am to 11:00am.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
