This term, our topic focus is “Toys and Games,” and we’ve been exploring this theme through our art lessons. The children began by investigating different types of teddy bears, looking closely at their shapes, textures, and unique features. In a previous lesson, they produced some wonderful observational sketches in their sketchbooks, carefully studying the bears and developing their drawing skills.

Building on this work, the children have now moved into clay, using their sketches to help them mould their own 2D teddy bear designs. It’s been fantastic to see their ideas come to life as they experiment with form, texture, and detail in a new medium.
