We have been learning how to add a two-digit number to a one-digit number — and what a fantastic learning!

The children have been using Dienes, counters, and a number square to help them understand how numbers work and how to add them together. It’s been incredible to see how confidently they’ve tackled each problem, using their resources to explain their thinking and find different ways to solve challenges.

There has been lots of discussion, teamwork, and excitement as the children discovered patterns and developed new strategies. Their growing confidence and enthusiasm for maths have been wonderful to see!
