In History, we have been learning about the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings. We learned about what they wore and how difficult it was for them to make dye and sew their own fabrics. We decided to have a go ourselves. We have started by dying our own cotton using natural materials. We created our blue dye using red cabbage, our yellow dye using ground up cardamon and finally we made pink/ purple using blackberries and blueberries. It was slow and smelly work but we made some beautiful colours and dyed our fabrics really well. Next we are going to draft our own patterns and then sew Tunics of our own using our fabrics.
