Key Stage 1 Sports Day

This Morning, we had a great time. We took part in lots of different sporting events. Tell someone at home all about it.

Well done to everyone! A big thank you to year 6 who ran the activities so well.

Year 1 Home Learning

We have been learning about verbs and adverbs.

Can you write some sentences about your day? Try to include a verb and an adverb.

E.g.

I brush my teeth carefully.

I eat my breakfast slowly.

I run quickly to the bus stop.

Have fun!

Year 1’s Plant Stall!

Well done, Year 1! On Saturday, we sold lots of flowers and vegetables on our stall. We have been busy growing all term so it was great to see our produce sold to happy customers!

We told our customers how much everything was and they looked at our price lists.
We counted the money carefully and gave change.
Thanks for coming to our stall!

Year 1 Home Learning

Think about these amounts of money:
5p, 10p, 20p, 50p and £1.
Can you make these amounts using:
The fewest coins possible.
And then:
The most coins possible, BUT you must use at least 2 different kinds of coin.
Good Luck!

We have been thinking about rhyming words and writing our own versions of ‘Hey Diddle Diddle’.

Can you make the longest rhyme string?

Here’s one to start you off: cat, fat, bat, rat, sat, that, hat.

Can you make a longer one?

Or you might like to make you own version of another rhyme. Have fun!

Year 1 Home Learning

This week we have been learning about subtraction.

Try making up your own subtraction word problem from real life.

e.g

Avin said that she had 100 cats and she lost 80. How many does she have now?
