As you can see, we have had a fantastic day celebrating books & reading. Illustrator, Joelle Avelino, visited our school today to share her work and tell us about her job as an illustrator. Joelle then spent some time in each Year 6 class, answering our questions and talking about her approach to illustrating before we had a go at producing book cover design for the book we are using in English – ‘Coming to England’. Joelle also set a completion to illustrate a page from the book ‘Hey You’.
Many thanks to parents and carers who helped their children get costumes ready for today – they all looked fantastic! 🤩
