…celebrating cultural diversity in 6L
Our class is culturally diverse. We are made up of people from 22 countries all over the world! Each one of us is unique yet here we are, in our cosy classroom in Catford, enjoying our final year of primary school together. We feel quite lucky because we know not all children have the opportunity to be part of such a rich tapestry of cultures.
We decided to create individual heritage sheets to celebrate our unique identity. Using our heritage sheets to help us, we have been teaching each other about different aspects of our cultures.
We also enjoyed listening to traditional music from 22 countries as we worked and we discovered so much about each other that we didn’t know.
We are hoping to continue our cultural learning journey soon by sampling food from some of our 22 countries 😊
