Remote Learning at Holbeach

Remote Learning for the Spring Term

As you will be aware, the government has ordered that from Monday 4th January, all London primary schools will be required to provide remote learning to the vast majority of their children.

At Holbeach, we are providing Remote Learning via Microsoft Teams. Your child will need to log in to their online classroom using the log in details the school provided you with previously. They will then have access to the following timetable each day:

9:15am – 10:15am‘Live Lesson’ with your class teacher (via Teams)
10:15am – 10:30amAssembly (via Teams-click into your Teams Calendar to access this everyday)
10:30am – 11:00amMorning Break
11:00am – 12:00pm‘Live Lesson’ with your class teacher (via Teams)
12:00pm – 1:00pmLunch Break
1:00pm – 2:00pm‘Live Lesson’ with your class teacher (via Teams)
2:00pm – 3:30pmIndependent Learning Time (class teachers will provide suggestions for activities that the children can try away from Teams)

For your children, learning in this way will be a relatively new experience. Therefore, it is vital that you take the time to look through the agreements for Remote Learning below.

While we appreciate that very young children will always require a significant amount of time and attention from the adult that they are with at home, we are confident that your experience of the remote learning we are providing this term will be a positive one. Feedback from the parents and carers in the classes who are experiencing this kind of learning has been hugely encouraging.

At Holbeach, we already have some fantastic online resources that are available to use at home. Your child has logins for all these programs, which will support their learning. Click on the Program you wish to open

Times Table RockStars

Make learning Times Tables fun. Times Table Rock Stars allows children to create a rock star character, practise their times tables and the corresponding division facts and ‘buy’ things for their rock star.

Since the success of Times Tables Rockstars in encouraging children to master times table and division fact instant recall, we would like their skills with mental addition and subtraction to be just as good. NumBots will help! All children start at the same place in Story mode, and when they get to a certain stage they will unlock Challenge mode.

** To use NumBots just use your Rockstars Username and Password to login **

My Maths

My Maths develops pupils’ confidence and fluency in Maths through fun activities. There are hundreds of lessons and self-marking homework tasks, worksheets, and games.

Bug Club

Bug Club is the only whole-school reading programme that brilliantly combines an online reading world with fantastic print books, and assessment tools. All children at Holbeach have an account for this fantastic online reading resource.
