PE with Joe

Get your PE kits on Holbeach! Every day at 9am Joe Wicks is doing a live PE lesson. You can find it on You Tube by clicking here. Or click on one of the links below for a previous day’s lesson.

Please use the comments box below to let us know if you have already been joining in with Joe. How are you finding it? Have you got the whole family joining in?

A message from Joe – “Parents are going to be under pressure to keep their children occupied, so for 30 minutes every weekday I can take over and inspire and energise kids to get active, bounce around and have fun. You can even join in with the kids.”

5A’s Sharing Assembly

Good morning, 5A! Today is our sharing assembly.

Atifa’s science and art

Atifa has found interesting facts about the sun. Do any of them surprise you?
A careful study of some leaves

Erin’s character profile and book review

Erin has written about ‘Goodnight Mr Tom’ by Michelle Magorian. What are her chosen character’s interests?

Daniel’s map of the continent of Africa

Daniel has shown all of the countries in Africa. Can you spot the River Nile? He also built a great model out Lego at home!

Thank you, Atifa, Erin and Daniel! You are clearly working hard on your distance learning. I hope you have been enjoying your studying 🙂

I was hoping to receive work from many more children! I’m sure all of you have been doing fantastic independent work and I would really like to share it with the class!

After the two week Easter break, we will continue having our weekly Friday ‘sharing assembly’. Please send your favourite piece of work to by Thursday each week. I look forward to receiving your wonderful work!

Good Morning, Year 5

Spring Term ends for Holbeach today (Aaawh!)

Summer Term begins on Monday 20th April (Hooray!)

Today’s maths is therefore the last until the new term begins and today’s answers will be published on this very blog at 3pm, this afternoon.

Through the Easter break Ms Akitoye and I are encouraging you t0;

# Keep yourselves and your families safe by sensible social distancing.

# Keep up with Times Tables Rock Stars and Bug club.

# Read, read, read and then… read some more!

# Keep visiting the school website to check for updates and new information.

Lego We Do at Home!

Hi, 5A! Don’t forget to send me your favourite piece of work from the last two weeks to by the end of today for our ‘sharing assembly’ tomorrow. I have already received some from Atifa – thank you!

I have been thinking about all the great work you did with Lego WeDo this term. Unfortunately, we don’t each have a kit at home so I thought you might like the challenge of creating Lego models online instead. I have found a great website called Mecabricks on which you can make 3D Lego models.

You could make a model of the moon in addition to your story for science this week, or perhaps a dragon linked to our work on ‘How to Trap a Dragon’. Be creative! You’ll need to play around with it a little bit; you could start with something simple and work your way up. I’d be really interested to see what you make, even if it’s not linked to what we’ve been learning!

Good Morning, Year 5

Once again, Ms Akitoye and I hope that you and your families are fit and well. Don’t forget to keep up with Joe Wicks, it is important that you something physical in addition to your six or seven hours of schoolwork each day!

A reminder that, for those of you who are not yet confident in all your Times AND division tables, to take this opportunity to learn them. It is noticeable that some children are making a real effort on Times Tables Rock Stars (and Bug Club). Well done to them, you will notice the difference in your maths on our return to school.
