This week 1L and 3C came together to share some stories that they had written in class.
We shared some brilliant stories and also enjoyed making some new friends.
Can you remember which stories we shared? What did you like best about our story sharing?
Well done everyone!
We have been writing stories about why animals behave the way they do.
Make up a story about how an animal got its special feature! (For example: How the tiger got its stripes or How the tortoise got its shell.)
Revise the 5 times table.
Can you make a list of ten verbs that you find in your reading book?
Here’s an example of an animal story!
We will be making Victorian houses in Art this term. Take a look at the houses around where you live (If it’s not raining!) and sketch one carefully. Also, remember to learn your story!
We have been learning about the ai sound this week. Make a list of words from your reading that contain the sound ai.
Keep practising your 5 times table!
The teaching of Maths has changed a lot over the years and we are aware that your child will be learning in very different ways to how you were taught at school!
Your child will be coming home with a ‘Parents Guide to Maths’ for their year group, outlining the expectations for the year, what they will be taught and how you can support their understanding at home.
The leaflet covers all the areas of Maths, with examples and diagrams to help you. You can download the leaflets for all the year groups below.
This week we have been learning the story ‘Cat, Snake and Heron’. Please retell the story to your friends and family at home. You can see a copy of your class story map on your class blog to help you.
In morning maths we have been looking at the 2 times table. Keep practising with your friends and family at home.
