This morning Year Two enjoyed a visit from some staff that work in the Horniman Museum. They brought along with them lots of different types of toys for the children to look at and play with.
The children have been learning about toys this term and this workshop enhanced the children’s learning even more. We looked at different toys from around the world, we discussed the materials they had been made from and how the toys are played with.
We hope you enjoyed the visit from the Horniman Museum today. We really enjoyed looking at the toys and finding out about different toys from around the world.
Your home learning today is to write and ask some questions to someone in your family about the toys they used to play with when they were little. It could be a parent or a grandparent. Don’t forget to put a question mark at the end of the questions.
Firstly, we would like to say a big well done to everyone for starting the new school year with a sensible attitude and wonderful behaviour. There have been lots of new changes but you have all coped very well and you should feel very proud of yourselves.
For your home learning this week we would like you to do two things.
Take home the Gruffalo puppet theatre you made and retell the story to adult at home.
Login to MyMaths (The instructions were sent home in a letter on Monday) and have a go at this weeks maths activity.
If you having any problems with My Maths then please let your teacher know.
I can’t quite believe it but this is the final week of school and tomorrow would have been our last day all together in 2T. It is such a shame that we cannot all celebrate the end of term together in the normal way. Well done to all of you for working hard at home over the last couple of months. I know it’s not easy and it hasn’t been the same as working in the classroom. Your perseverance and determination have made me feel very proud.
We have really missed each and every one of you. You are all amazing, funny, creative and kind children. We absolutely loved teaching you from September until March and we wish we could have carried on till the end of the year. Your new teacher, Miss Simpson, is very lucky to be having you all as a class next year. You are going to have such a great time in Year 3 and I will still be in the classroom off the library so we can all wave and say hello to each other.
We have put together a little collection of some of our favourite memories of the year. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos. I think if we had the chance to perform our class assembly that would have been one of our best memories too.
Thanks for being such a great class and making me smile everyday.
We hope you all have a wonderful summer holiday and get the chance to relax and have lots of fun. Take care of yourselves and we look forward to seeing you all back in September.
Welcome to the final sharing assembly of the year. We just want to to say thank you very much to everyone who has taken the time to send in a photo over the past 14 weeks. We wouldn’t have been able to have this special sharing time each week without you.
Well done to everyone who has worked hard at home during these very different and sometimes challenging times. We appreciate that it is not always easy to do school work at home but we want to say well done to everyone who has tried their best and worked hard.
This week we are going to start with looking at some pictures of what some of the children that have been in school in the Year 2 bubble have been getting up to.
Welcome back to our last week of maths which will be about money. This week you will be recapping what you learnt about earlier on in the year. You will be identifying and adding coins, finding different coin combinations
Monday – Look at the PowerPoint and then choose a game to play.
Welcome back to the last week of the year! I can’t believe it is the final week of our time together in Year Two.
As this week is the last week of term, if you are someone that has not sent in a picture yet, it would be fantastic if you could send in a picture for our final sharing assembly. It would be great to celebrate as many of you as possible on the blog. If you would like to send a picture in this week please could you send it to the usual email address by 12pm on Thursday 16th July.
With the holidays in mind, our final week of work has a seaside theme. We hope you enjoy them. As always, please do email if you have any questions.
We would like to take this opportunity to say well done to everyone for continuing to read at home over the past couple of months. Whether you have been reading school books, books at home, books from the library or books on bug club. Reading is so important, it helps you learn about the world, about people, places and it helps to improve your language and vocabulary. So please don’t forget to do some reading, even in the summer holidays.
This week the comprehension is all about the seaside. Don’t forget there are three different versions with the answers. We would recommend that you just choose one.
Welcome back to another sharing assembly. I can’t quite believe we are already at the end of our penultimate week of the school year. Time seems to be flying by at the moment.
Thanks to everyone for sending in photos of what the children have been getting up, we really appreciate it. Well done to all of you working hard at home, you should all feel very proud of yourselves.
As next week is the last week of term, if you are someone that has not sent in a picture yet, it would be fantastic if you could send in a picture for our final sharing assembly. It would be great to celebrate as many of you as possible on the blog. If you would like to send a picture in next week please could you send it to the usual email address by 12pm on Thursday 16th July.
Back to this week. Let’s see what you have been getting up to.
** I would like to ask the person who emailed me some photos, just before 12 today, to please email me back and let me know who the photos have been sent it from. Unfortunately there was no name of a child or adult with the email. Thanks, Miss Townsend.
Thanks again to everyone who sent in a picture, we hope you all have a lovely weekend.
