## Fair Testing-Friction

In our Science lessons 2T have been learning about different forces. Last week we carried out an experiment to test the friction between a toy car and different surfaces. We carried out a fair test to see how much friction there was.

The materials we tested were:

• bubble wrap
• cork
• shiny material
• wooden floor
• corrugated card
• felt
• carpet
• paper

We made sure that each test was fair by using the same size ramp, car, starting pount and whiteboard.

What we found out:

• Joel- ‘The corrugated card was so rough, the car got stuck, there was a lot of friction.’
• Alessia- ‘The wooden floor was so smooth, our car travelled really far’
• Jemima-‘I think the wooden floor had not much friction with the car because it went so far’
• Asher- ‘The shiny material was really smooth too, our car went a long way. I think that has not much friction.

Great work 2T! Can you tell someone at home what you have learnt about friction.

## BeeBots

In term 1, 2T have been learning how to programme and use the Beebots. Everyone started out by designing a Beebot mat in pairs.

We had to try and make sure that each square was 15cm by 15cm. Once we had finished designing we started to test out the Beebots. We had to make sure we knew which direction forwards, backwards, left and right were before we started.

Once we had finished that part. We had to learn how to write a set of instructions for the Beebot to move from one square all the way to another.

2T have had lots of fun this term learning how to programme and have all written a brilliant set of instructions. Well done.

## Royal Festival Hall

Today 2T went on exciting adventure. We went on the train, travelling from Catford Bridge to Charing Cross. We walked back over the bridge towards the Royal Festival Hall.

Once we arrived, we found a spot to sit down and have our lunch. Then we went into the hall and sat in our seats.

Then the Orchestra started to warm up.

Which was your favourite part of the Orchestra?

We sand some songs and then watched the film of the Highway Rat while the Orchestra played along.

What was your favourite part of the day?
