Look at these amazing outcomes from this term’s art project:

Making birds with clay – 1G

This week we concluded our topic for Art this term – clay.

The children began this topic by exploring clay, this then moved on to creating 3D shapes using clay. The children then practised making markings in clay using different tools. After close observational drawings of birds using models, 1G have now made their own birds using clay!

They worked hard and concentrated for long periods of time, pinching, stretching and perfecting their works of Art!

Visit to Catford Library – 1G

This afternoon we visited Catford Library. They gave us a special library card just for 1G. We listened to 2 super stories and then got to explore the library. We borrowed 5 books as a class. When we have read and enjoyed them we’ll return them and borrow some more!

Catford Library is a fantastic resource for our community, please visit with your child if you wish to borrow some books and spend some time there 😊

Bella found a chapter book by one of our focus authors – Tom Percival!

Red Class Easter fun

We started the day making bunny hats and decorating hard boiled eggs.

In the afternoon, we met the Easter Bunny! We sang a song together and went on an egg hunt.

After that, we went egg rolling! We rolled our decorated eggs and recorded how far they went.

Visit From the Easter Bunny!

Today, the Easter Bunny visited us! We had a little quiz (we got 3 out of 3 questions correct!). We then searched for Easter eggs AND ate them!

We had such a lovely time, thank you Easter Bunny!

1G enjoyed meeting the Easter Bunny today! They sang a song, answered some questions and had an Easter Egg Hunt! 😊

After exploring the databases and using our searching and sorting skills, we were able to produce visual representation of the data.

Red Class at Dragon School!

Congratulations Dragons! What a busy day we’ve had at Dragon school.

In the Morning, we made fire and ice sandwiches (cream cheese or jam).

In the afternoon, we went to Dragon school.

We have made our own books on how to be a dragon so we are experts.

The first lesson was flying!

Lesson two was roaring!

Lesson three was blowing fire.

Watch out, it’s hot!!

Lesson four was capturing a royal.

Lesson five was fighting a knight.

All the way through Dragon School, the Headmistress was watching us!

We asked her questions and she blew smoke to let us know what she thought! At the end we asked her if we had all passed Dragon School and she blew loads of smoke to let us know we were fully qualified dragons! Well done Red Class!
